ABS Warning Light

Service Soon

What it generally indicates

Indicates the anti-lock braking system has detected a fault and may not be fully functional.

Possible causes

A faulty wheel speed sensor, a wiring issue, or a fault in the ABS control module.

Whether continued driving may be risky

Normal braking should still work, but ABS may not engage in a hard stop, which can affect control on slippery surfaces. Leave extra following distance and have it checked soon. If the red brake warning light comes on at the same time, treat it as a brake-system problem and stop driving.

What a technician may inspect

A technician can retrieve ABS-specific diagnostic codes to identify the faulty sensor or component.

This is general guidance, not a diagnosis — your owner's manual is the final word for your specific model, and a qualified technician should confirm the actual cause.
