Seatbelt Reminder Light

Informational

What it generally indicates

Indicates the system has detected an unbuckled seatbelt for an occupied seat.

Possible causes

A front or rear seat occupant not wearing their seatbelt, or occasionally an object on a seat being detected as an occupant.

Whether continued driving may be risky

Not wearing a seatbelt significantly increases the risk of injury in a crash.

What a technician may inspect

Buckle up before driving.

This is general guidance, not a diagnosis — your owner's manual is the final word for your specific model, and a qualified technician should confirm the actual cause.
