Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Warning Light
Service SoonWhat it generally indicates
Indicates one or more tires are significantly under-inflated. On most vehicles, if the light flashes for about a minute at startup and then stays on, it's signalling a fault in the TPMS system itself rather than low pressure.
Possible causes
A puncture or slow leak, a drop in outside temperature (which lowers tire pressure), or — for a system fault — a failing TPMS sensor or sensor battery.
Whether continued driving may be risky
Driving on a significantly under-inflated tire increases the risk of a blowout and affects handling and fuel economy. Check tire pressures as soon as safely possible.
What a technician may inspect
Check all tire pressures with a gauge, ideally when the tires are cold, against the values on the tire placard (usually on the driver's doorjamb) — not the maximum printed on the tire itself. Check the spare too if it has a sensor. If a tire keeps losing pressure, have it inspected for a puncture.

This is general guidance, not a diagnosis — your owner's manual is the final word for your specific model, and a qualified technician should confirm the actual cause.
